Skating Club of Nevada Scholarship Program

 

Eligibility

• Applicants must be a Home Club Member of the Skating Club of Nevada in good standing.

 

Awards

• One - $500 award (Juvenile FS/Adult Gold FS and higher)

• Two - $250 awards (Pre-Preliminary FS/Adult Bronze FS and higher)

• Five - $100 credit towards Las Vegas Ice Center Freestyle ice time (all levels)

 

Application

please submit the following info (either typed or hand written):

• Skater's Name

• USFSA Number

• Type of Membership

• Age

• Competitive/Test Levels

• Parent(s) Name(s)

• Email

• Phone

• Skating Achievements (medals, awards etc. = skating bio or resume)

• Coach(es)

• SHORT ESSAYS (Please be sure to complete ALL THREE essays)

  1. What is something you have learned in skating that helps you with life outside of skating (school, work, friendships, etc)? (no more than 500 words)

  2. What is your favorite part of skating? (no more than 500 words)

  3. Who is your favorite skater and why? (no more than500 words)

 

Deadline

• Applications will be accepted beginning July 1st, 2020

• All applications must be submitted by December 1st, 2020

• Please submit the full application to the Membership Chair (Katrina Mourzine). You can hand them directly to her or email her at SCofNevadaMembership@gmail.com.

 

Announcement of Winners

• The Skating Club of Nevada Board will review all entires received and announce the winners during the Annual Club Banquet in January 2021.

 

***Please note - all scholarships are based on the number and quality of entries received. Actual funds may be greater or less than the listed amounts based on the decisions of the entire Club Board of Directors.
